…in this f@#$kin sweet lol as f3ck video. Awesome editing – forget about all the driving in the sand stuff, but the start and end owns.

Best part – the disgusted slam-shut of the stupid slow-opening glovebox… HAHA

So the old MarkII somehow found its way onto stanceworks.com / canibeat!

Mike dubbed it ‘the longest turbo conversion ever’ which is not far from the truth… if not an understatement.

But before Xmas last year I bought a TD05 (prob off an early Evo) that came with a stainless manifold for a 3TGTE.  It was a good deal and I was keen on getting a bit more power from the Carina  so snapped it up off Trade Me. After a month of f***ing around with getting it to fit and stuff (ups) I finally finished installing it and took it for a drive tonight. Read the rest of this entry »

C’s new drift machine?

Here’s two compilation clip’s from Saturday. My first time editing anything so don’t be too harsh!

One is of me, filmed from a Tri-pod that was duct taped in the back seat well, and the other was filmed by our good friend Guy.

Hope you enjoy!

Mike

Right, so it turns out the camera I was using takes native video in a generally unfriendly format. You need a MJPEG codec to view it properly. Worked on mine but I forgot I got custom codecs so rather than force you all to update your media players, here are all the videos together in one Youtube clip.

Enjoy!

This one will be Mike’s next machine… JZX110 goodness.

Tell me… can one drift on a tiptronic?? Will it really just hold gears on the limiter without shifting if in “manual” mode? Maybe I’m getting lazy but it sounds like a good deal if so?? :)

I followed the boys down to Hampton Downs for the twilight meet with a little pocket cam – I’m no photographer but I did what I could to capture the lads in action. Got some footage of the first uphill-over-crest section that you hit right after descending from the front straight.  Pretty cool, especially Mike’s successful linking of that entire section all the way down the crest on to the far right hander – awesome. Also got one vid of Mike and Waz on the downhill hairpin before the climb to the front straight again. What are the names of these damned corners anyway??

Click here to  download all the vids in full quality and for my gallery of pics. Hover your mouse over the vid files to read the names so you know what’s what.

Had to leave early as I was double booked for something else but still – fun as day and was great inspiration to get my car up to a driftable spec so next time I can attempt to join in!

Few more photos from the day. Took me a while to get used to my car in its new set up, few teething issues but overall a mean day bring on the 10th! We had three Slipway boys hitting up the track was epic.

Chris is the man at photography, check out his blog beeoneoneoh.
